Since January 1, 2018, foreign tourists can without visas visit Brest and some areas of the Brest region, or more precisely - the tourist and recreational zone "Brest".
This norm is laid down in the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of December 26, 2017.
The list of countries whose citizens can use the visa-free regime is reflected in the Decree.

Crossing the State border of the Republic of Belarus is possible with the Republic of Poland - at the checkpoints Brest (Terespol), Domachevo (Slovatici), Peschatka (Polovtsi), pedestrian simplified checkpoint Perov (Bialowieza). And also through the railway station and the airport in Brest (under the railway crossing point Brest (Terespol) is understood the checkpoint at the Brest-Vostochny railway station in the central region of Brest).

From January 1, 2018 without a visa in the city of Brest and the areas within the visa-free zone "Brest" can be up to 10 days, you can visit the following territories without a visa - see the map.
Exceptions are the border zone and the border strip, for which a special pass is required, they are marked with the appropriate signs:

For those who plan to stay more than 5 days - you must remember about the mandatory registration in the migration service.
They are exempted from the need to register for a period of stay up to 30 days - Estonian citizens and stateless persons documented by a non-citizen passport of Estonia residing in the territory of the Republic of Estonia, Latvian citizens and persons having the status of non-citizen of the Republic of Latvia, Lithuanian citizens.


To enter the Republic of Belarus foreign citizens shall have the following documents with themselves:

  • valid passport or any other substitution document for travel abroad;
  • a document confirming the acquisition of tourist services from the company "Ostrov-ok" and granting foreign citizens the right to visit the zone "Brest" ;
  • money: for each day of stay to have the amount in currency or Belarusian rubles equivalent to not less than 2 base units (about 20 €). This sum can be obtained in foreign currency or in the national currency of Belarus.
